Earl of Essex is one of the Manor Park E12 landmarks. It was designed and built by Architect Henry Poston and William Edward Trent in 1902. The pub is a grade II listed building. In 2012, the pub closed but there are plans to reopen it.

Small Faces lead singer Steve Marriott was born here in 1947. His band’s song Itchycoo Park made the UK Singles Chart in 1967. Most people believe that the song is about Little Ilford Park in Manor Park. Steve Marriot disclosed that the inspiration for the song is Valentine’s Park in Ilford.

Oscar-winning actress Greer Garson and actor Stanley Holloway are born in Manor Park. Notable residents include the recipient of the Victoria cross George Drewry, Cliver Burr the drummer of Iron Maiden who lived in Manor Park when he was a child, Bloc Party lead singer Kele Okereke, and space scientist Matt Taylor who is known for being part of the mission that landed a spacecraft on a comet for the first time.

Manor Park is an East London suburban district and ward of the London Borough of Newham. The district is bordered to the north by Wanstead, to the south by East Ham, to the west by Forest Gate, and to the east by Ilford. Located further west are the City of London and Stratford, while further west is the Essex border and Romford.

Manor Park railway station is the primary public transport link in the area. There are trains that run every 10 minutes to Liverpool Street Station. Also close is the Woodgrange Park station, which lies on the Barking to Gospel Oak line and part of the London Overground rail network. Both stations are located in Travelcard Zone 3.
