Wraysbury is an administrative parish and area within the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, situated on the River Thames’ eastern bank, approximately halfway between Staines-upon-Thames and Windsor and 29 km (18 miles) west southwest of London.
Historically, the area was part of Buckinghamshire but was absorb in 1974 by the new non-metro Berkshire (under the Local Government Act 1972). Wraysbury is served by two stations – Sunnymeads railway station and Wraysbury railway station, both of which are on the Staines-Windsor line and run from Windsor to London Waterloo.
Notable people associated with the area include Pink Floyd band member David Gilmour, pop singer Louise Cordet, actress Beryl Reid and British architect Gordon Cullen. Popular localities in Wraysbury are Friary Island, Sunnymeads, and Hythe End.
