Potters Bar is a ward in Hertfordshire, England, located 21 km (13 miles) north of London and part of the London metropolitan area. Dating back to the first part of the 13th century, Potters Bar remained a quaint agricultural (for the most part) town until 1850, with the Great Northern Railway’s arrival.
Potters Bar railway station serves the area, running between York and King’s Cross railway station in London. Various north London areas are served by the Great Northern Railway network to the south before stopping at either Moorgate station or King’s Cross. To the north, train routes travels to Welwyn Garden City, Hatfield, Peterborough and Cambridge.
